Washing

• Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle.
• Tumble dry low.
• No bleach. It doesn't need it.
• Wash a new set on its own the first time, as you would any coloured bedding.

Fur, and what actually works

Microfibre releases fur more easily than cotton, which is half the reason we use it. A dryer cycle on low with no heat and a couple of dryer balls will lift most of it before it ever reaches a lint roller. Shake the quilt out before it goes in.

Claws

Kneading is what kills most cat-print bedding: a printed face bonded to a shell lifts at exactly the spot she works at. Ours is stitched through all three layers, so a snag pulls the whole quilt rather than lifting a printed layer. If it ever pills within two years of regular washing, that's the No-Pill Promise — we replace it.

Storing between seasons

Fold it into the cotton drawstring bag it arrived in. It breathes, which a plastic box does not, and it keeps the print from creasing along the same line all summer.
